Earth Love Cosmetics Review

Clean. Cruelty-Free. Local. Earth Love Cosmetics.

Earth Love Cosmetics is a brand located just a few blocks away from me, and as if that weren’t enough to get me interested, their products are made from earth-derived ingredients. Think plant oils, mineral clays, Epsom and sea salts, powders, and grains. Their products are always cruelty-free. When it comes to my favorite types of products, Earth Love Cosmetics checks all the boxes.

Right now the brand is small, offering just 5 products. I had the opportunity to try 2, a cleanser and a facial oil. Earth Love Cosmetics currently offers 2 cleansers and 3 facial oils. I decided to try the Gentle Cleanser and the Cleansing Facial Oil.

Earth Love Cosmetics Gentle Cleanser and Facial Oil

Earth Love Cosmetics products are packaged in compact containers that are easy to travel with. The cleansers are packaged in biodegradable cardboard cylinders and the facial oils are housed in recyclable glass bottles with pump dispensers. The labels on each are eco-friendly, they’re made from corn instead of petrochemicals.

I was afraid that the cardboard cylinder that the cleanser is held in would become flimsy when handled with wet hands while cleansing my face, but so far so good. It has dried quickly and maintained its sturdiness. A word of warning, don’t store it in your shower, the moisture and inevitable splashes of water will damage the cardboard. I learned this the hard way when washing my face in the shower. Now I use this as an out-of-shower cleanser only.

Earth Love Cosmetics Cleanser Texture

The Gentle Cleanser has a soft, grainy texture. I love that it’s a solid cleanser, making it easy and ideal to travel with. Just add water and this powdery cleanser melts into a face wash.

The Cleansing Facial Oil is self-explanatory. It has an oily consistency that is more on the watery side, rather than on the thicker, gooey side. It feels light, not like it’s going to immediately clog your pores. Don’t worry, it won’t! Being an oil cleanser, it removes makeup with ease.

Earth Love Cosmetics Cleansing Facial Oil

The ingredients are straight-forward, no over-complicated fillers here. The Gentle Cleanser is made with:

  • Colloidal Oatmeal – Has powerful cleaning properties.
  • Buttermilk Powder – Exfoliates, brightens, fades brown spots, and evens skin tone.
  • Honey Powder – Attracts dirt from pores and dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. It also moisturizes.

The Cleansing Facial Oil is a mix of:

  • Organic Sunflower Oil – Keeps skin balanced and hydrated. It also contains Vitamin E to help reduce signs of aging.
  • Hazelnut Oil – Is known as the “Pore Reducing Oil.” This oil is very hydrating and it helps fight acne.
  • Kalahari (Watermelon) Seed Oil – Does all kinds of good like dissolving sebum, evening skin tone, and reducing puffiness.

Earth Love Cosmetics Powder Cleanser

Use is as simple as the ingredient list. To use the Gentle Cleanser wet your skin and pour some of the cleansing powder onto your hands. Briefly rub your hands together, then massage the cleanser onto your face. Be sure to avoid your eye area. Rinse and you’re all set to continue your skincare routine.

This cleanser can also be left on your skin for a few minutes to be used as a mask. In the morning it can be used alone, but since it does not remove makeup, use it after using the Cleansing Facial Oil at night.

To use the Cleansing Facial Oil begin by wetting your face with lukewarm water. Massage the oil onto your face for anywhere from 30 seconds to 1 minute. Then, gently wipe the oil off with cotton rounds or a wet washcloth. As mentioned, use this facial oil to remove makeup, then follow it up with the Gentle Cleanser to thoroughly cleanse your skin.

  • Gentle Cleanser – $23.00
  • Cleansing Facial Oil – $20.00

Both can be purchased on

Earth Love Cosmetics Review

Yes! If you’re looking to simplify your skincare routine, give Earth Love Cosmetics a try. I love that the brand is local to San Francisco and I love the simplicity of each product’s formula.

I’m impressed that the thoughtfulness put into each product didn’t stop at the ingredients. The products benefit your skin and the packaging is mindful of the environment. Even the labels are made of corn instead of petrochemicals.

I’ve been using these products in the morning and evening. I use the Gentle Cleanser alone during my morning skincare routine and I use the Cleansing Facial Oil followed by the Gentle Cleanser in the evening. Aside from some redness, I think my skin is looking pretty good. What do you think? Let me know in the comments!

Organic beauty lovers, this one is for you, and everyone else! Today’s product is of interest to all beauty lovers as it combines makeup and skin care. We’re talking about a medium-full coverage organic face makeup that is not only a foundation, it’s a serum too.

Feed Your Skin - 15% off first purchase plus free shipping over $30 - 728x90

The juice BEAUTY Phyto-Pigments Flawless Serum Foundation is housed in a frosted glass bottle. The bottle is a cylinder with a shiny silver cap. When removing the cap, a silver pump is revealed to dispense the product.

juice Beauty Liquid Serum Foundation Consistency

This foundation is really runny and watery. I don’t love the runny consistency, but this does allow the foundation to be blended into your skin very easily. As the serum foundation is applied to your skin it quickly dries giving your skin an overall soft-focus, velvety finish.

Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Flawless Serum Foundation Ingredients

Juice Beauty’s Phyto-Pigments Flawless Serum Foundation is made with organic Aloe Leaf Juice, Fruit Stem Cells, Safflower Seed Oil, and Coconut Alkanes. A full list of current ingredients can be found on

The formulation of this foundation reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It doesn’t settle into fine lines and it helps maintain your skin’s moisture. This foundation is weightless and comfortable on your skin from application in the morning to removal at night. Vitamins C & E in the serum foundation help protect your skin throughout the entire day.

This foundation is vegan and cruelty free. It’s made without parabens, petroleum, propylene or butylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, pesticides, phthalates, artificial dyes or synthetic fragrances.

First and foremost, shake, shake, shake! The formula of this foundation does separate out so you will need to give it a good shake before applying it on your skin. In the above photos, the foundation has separated out on the left and is fully combined and ready to use on the right.

Once you’ve made sure the ingredients are completely combined, squeeze 1 and 1/2 to 2 pumps of the product onto your fingertips. This foundation can easily be smoothed onto your skin and blended in with your fingertips. I often skip my makeup sponge when applying this face makeup because I simply don’t need it.

One layer of the foundation provides a medium, very natural coverage. Two layers, what I tend to apply, gives a full coverage that is still very natural looking.

To create a glowing-from-within look with this foundation, put a highlighter on and then the foundation. The highlighter will subtly shine through the foundation creating really gorgeous, glowing skin.

The price of this product is $44.00. It can be purchased online directly from Juice Beauty or you can conveniently order it from Ulta.

To be 100% honest with you, I hated this foundation when I first started using it. I didn’t like how watery it felt, and still don’t, I didn’t think it provided enough coverage, and overall I didn’t like how different it was from the foundation I’d been using religiously previously. But, I gave it a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th try, finding a way to make it work exactly the way I wanted it to.

After experimenting with different primers (the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer is my favorite to use with this) and discovering I needed to apply 2 layers of the foundation to get the look I wanted, I fell in love with the soft-focus, natural finish that it gave my skin. Having combination/oily skin, I do find that I need to touch-up around my nostrils (especially if it’s allergy season) or anywhere else I have a significant amount of redness later in the day.

Overall, I like the lightweight feel of this serum foundation and think it’s a great Spring/Summer foundation. Other than seasonally, this is a very good option anytime you’d like your makeup to feel a little lighter. It all depends on what you like. I like this foundation for days that I’m heading to the beach, park, running errands, etc. Really, I like it as an everyday, go-to foundation.

Han Rose Berry Cheek and Lip Tint Review

It’s a new year, let’s try some new makeup! For the first review of the year, let’s chat about beauty products that are organic, cruelty free, and headquartered right here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Let’s chat about Han Skin Care Cosmetics Rose Berry Cheek and Lip Tint.

Before we get too far into it, I kept thinking that Han was pronounced like “Han” as in Han Solo. What? I love Star Wars. I did my research and it is actually pronounced like “hand,” without the “d.” Han. Okay, moving on to the makeup!

For a 2-in-1 product, this cheek and lip tint is moderately priced at $16.00.

You can get it on

While you’re there, check out their face and eye makeup too! If you’d like to try some makeup before you buy a full size product, you can on their Sample page. That is such a convenient option, I love that they offer samples sizes for purchase. Free samples are fabulous too, but you usually have to buy something full size to get them.

Han Rose Berry Cheek and Lip Tint

The Rose Berry Cheek and Lip Tint is a mauve rose all-natural cheek and lip tint with a very subtle shimmer.

The formula of this cheek and lip tint is full of nourishing ingredients like shea butter, cupuacu butter, argan and acai oil, and vitamins and tea extracts. The infusion of these ingredients, that are beneficial to your skin, make the cheek and lip tint hydrating. To create the rose berry color natural fruit, vegetable, and plant sources are used.

The Rose Berry Cheek and Lip Tint is cruelty free, vegetarian, and 100% natural. Not all, but some ingredients are organic. It isn’t vegan because it uses Beeswax.

This all natural cheek and lip tint is housed in a compact brown twist-up tube. It is perfectly packaged for travel and on-the-go use.

The tube that the product comes in is a slightly larger cylindrical tube. The material isn’t thick enough for me to consider it cardboard, it’s more of a high-quality card stock. Sorry, I’m terrible at describing packaging, but I’m working on it!

This multi-tasking product can be used to give your cheeks a warm flush or your lips a berry tint.

Usually I don’t like 2-in-1 cheek and lip products, I find that they work much better as one or the other. After using the Han All Natural Cheek and Lip Tint, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this truly does work well on both your cheeks and lips.

Application is simple. I’ve been using the stick itself to apply this product and then I blend it in with my finger tips. It blends easily onto your cheeks and feels surprising nourishing on your lips.

You can also use makeup brushes to apply this product, if that’s what you prefer.

If you’d like a deeper, more intense color, layer it on.

I’m loving this versatile, all-natural 2-in-1 cheek and lip tint, what are your favorite all-natural products? Let me know in the comments!

Antonym Cosmetics Certified Organic Baked Foundation Review

Today let’s chat about the first certified organic product I’ve ever shared on this blog: Antonym Cosmetics Certified Organic Baked Foundation in Medium Beige. FYI: this is my new favorite powder foundation, it’s amazing! Let’s breakdown the cost, packaging, what it is, and more!

This foundation costs $38.00 and is available in 6 shades. You can purchase it on:

This is on the pricier side, but considering the packaging, ingredients, and quality I think that $38.00 is a very fair price.

Just so you know: I may get a commission if you purchase any products after clicking the links in this post. Using my links to shop is a great way to support my blog!

Antonym Cosmetics Organic Baked Foundation 2

This baked foundation is beautifully packaged in sustainable bamboo. The inside of the bamboo shell has a mirror for on-the-go touch ups. It is a bit bulky, but I’ll forgive that since the packaging is sustainable and the foundation itself is domed and requires some extra room.

The bamboo compact is sold in a sleek black box with Antonym printed in white lettering and clear shiny lettering on the front. I like the look of it, but it is a stark contrast to the natural casing inside. I’m curious as to whether this is on purpose or not.

Antonym Cosmetics Organic Baked Foundation 1

As it says right on the back of its packaging, 99.16% of total ingredients in this certified organic baked foundation are from natural origin. 12.4% of the total ingredients are from organic farming. Being organic, you may have guessed that this baked foundation is also cruelty free and vegan. Good qualities like being organic, cruelty free, and vegan tend to go hand-in-hand.

This powder foundation provides a medium coverage and can be worn alone or over a liquid foundation as a finishing powder. Either way you wear it, it will give you a long-lasting matte finish.

Antonym Cosmetics Review Bay Area Beauty Blogger

I love this foundation! I was skeptical about the coverage and application at first, but after using it on a regular basis for several weeks I can confirm that it glides on smoothly and provides a medium coverage.

In the above screen shot from my review video, it is the only foundation I’m wearing. In addition to the Antonym Cosmetics Baked Foundation, I’m wearing a tiny bit of concealer, blush, and a highlighter. suggests applying this baked foundation with a Kabuki brush and I agree. I’ve only applied this foundation with a kabuki brush when wearing it alone and looking for a matte, medium coverage.

For maximum coverage, you could use this as a setting powder over liquid foundation. In that situation I would recommend brushing it on lightly with a powder brush or bronzer brush.

Either way, the biggest thing I’ve noticed about this foundation is how it fights off shine. Having combination skin, if I’m not careful with the products I use I can get a little bit of shine on my cheeks in the afternoon. Since using this foundation, alone or over a liquid foundation, my skin as been completely matte. Not dull, just beautifully, naturally, matte.

I’ve put together a quick review video based on this post so you can learn a little more about this foundation and see it in action. Take a look!

Have you tried any Antonym Cosmetics products, if so what are your favorites? I’d love to try more, so please let me know what you recommend trying next in the comments below!
