Too Faced Boss Lady Beauty Agenda Palette

Let’s start off with this bold and beautiful eyeshadow palette. The eyeshadow palette offers a great selection of color but the quality is inconsistent. Some shades are very pigmented while others are more sheer. Along those same lines, some shades are easy to blend, but others create a bit of a mess on your eyelids.

The agenda, which we’ll discuss more in a minute, suggests using some of the eyeshadows as an eyeliner. I love using eyeshadows as eyeliners, I wet an angle brush, pick up some color, and line my eyes. I do not think that this is an option with the colors recommended to be used as eyeliners in this palette. For example it is suggested that you line your eyes with Black Tie, but this color isn’t opaque enough. I recommend using your favorite pencil, gel, or liquid eyeliner when creating eye looks with this palette, instead of the eyeshadows included.

The Luminizer, Blush, and Bronzer are all effective and perform exactly how I would expect them to. The Luminizer gives you a subtle glow that is easy to blend, the Blush adds a nice flush to your cheeks, and the bronzer helps define your overall look. Plus, the Bronzer is Chocolate Soleil so it has a yummy chocolate scent!

Too Faced Boss Lady Beauty Agenda Review

I like the inclusion the Deluxe Melted Matte Long Wear Lipstick in Sell Out and the Deluxe Better Than Sex Mascara. They are both perfectly sized for taking with you on your Holiday travels.

The shade Sell Out is complimentary to the eyeshadow palette, making it a perfect option when creating any look with the palette. Melted Matte Long Wear Lipsticks deliver a saturated opaque color that is long-lasting. I find it to be slightly drying but not too bad.

The Better Than Sex Mascara is tried and true, giving curl, volume, and length to your lashes. It will definitely add drama to the eye looks you create with the eyeshadows in this palette.

The Leatherette mini zip-around agenda cover with built-in mirror was not an after thought. This is a well-made cover that can be used throughout the rest of this year and next year. It isn’t too large or bulky, making it ideal for throwing in your bag or backpack.

The paper-bound agenda, including 2 Stickers Sheets, seems durable too. I do plan on using this Agenda, in fact I look forward to using it. My favorite thing about the agenda is that with each month you’ll find a new makeup look to be inspired by. At the beginning of each month the Agenda gives you an exclusive step-by-step guide on how to create a makeup look perfect for that month.

In addition to these playful makeup tutorials, each month has a 2-page spread giving you an overview of the month ahead. The back of the agenda features several lined pages for note taking. I’m disappointed that there aren’t 2 pages per week added for additional planning space, but I’m hoping that they will add these in next year. That is if they make this an annual thing, which I really hope they do. I hope other beauty brands catch on and make their own agendas too. With Tarte’s packaging, I’m sure they’d make a gorgeous agenda.

This would make a great gift for yourself or any beauty enthusiast on your list. Consistent quality in each and every eyeshadow shade would be appreciated, but overall I’m really happy with this Too Faced limited edition Holiday release and would recommend picking it up before it’s sold out!

Would you like to hear more? Maybe via video?? As always, I’ve got you covered. 😉

I’ve made TWO videos about this limited Holiday beauty release, first up we have the Unboxing, then we have my video review which compliments this post perfectly! Get some popcorn and check these videos out!

What to Wear when Traveling for the Holidays

I’m sure a lot of you are traveling right now, are you comfortable? Traveling by car, boat, plane, or train is difficult enough already, don’t make things worse by dressing uncomfortably. And, no, I’m not about to suggestion that you travel in pajamas. Pajamas are for bed, not the airport.

To guarantee your comfort throughout your travels, dress in layers. That is seriously the best thing you can do for yourself! My ideal cold weather travel ensemble is as follows: a long sleeve dress, blanket-like cardigan, winter coat, scarf, leggings, knee-high socks, and boots.

Let’s Break it Down:

  • Long Sleeve Dress – You could swap this out for a long sleeve tunic.
  • Blanket-like Cardigan – Any loose fitting, warm cardigan would work.
  • Winter Coat – You’re most likely traveling to or from cold weather and a coat will be necessary, don’t pack it, save that precious suitcase space and wear it!
  • Scarf – It’ll keep you warm and can be folded up to double as a make-shift pillow.
  • Leggings – Or thick tights, like I’m wearing in the photos below. Either way, pick a pair that’s comfortable.
  • Knee-high Socks – Or any socks that fit at or above your ankle. You don’t want your socks sliding off the back of your heels while you’re walking around, that’s why I suggest that they hit above your ankle or higher. Having your socks slide off your heels, especially in boots, is SO annoying.
  • Boots – Just like the winter coat, don’t pack your boots, they take up too much space, wear them!

If you’re traveling in or out of true winter weather (snow, freezing rain, temperatures in the 30’s or lower) you’re going to want to add a hat and gloves to this list too!

What to Wear When Traveling

Outfit Ideas!

Look One:

In this look we’re keeping everything neutral and simple. Combinations of black and gray are winter-y and classic. Due to its laid back vibes and neutral palette, the cardigan in this outfit can be worn throughout your trip to give you extra warmth when you’re out and about or it can keep you cozy when you’re snuggling up on the couch. I’m picturing this cardigan with pajamas, a glass of wine, a good movie, and family.

Look Two:

This outfit has a lighter feel and look to it. It’s still neutral overall, but the addition of pale pink and cream soften the look. The Madewell scarf is the stand out piece in this outfit. It’s versatile and, because of the pastel colors, can be worn through spring. The Free People dress is a favorite of mine too, it keeps this outfit trendy and cool.

Look Three:

This is the most festive outfit of the bunch. The combination of evergreen and deep red hint at Christmas without being in-your-face-obvious. I love and would wear all of these outfits, but I must confess that this last ensemble is my favorite. It has the most affordable pieces too, which means I may be rocking some of these pieces myself in the next few weeks! I’m not traveling this year, but I still need casual outfits for family gatherings!

To create your ideal travel look, combine pieces pictured above. Or, to save you time, the above options have already been organized in head to toe looks. It’s a no-brainer, get these items and your look is jet-set ready!

Which of the above looks is your favorite?

too Faced

Today’s makeup tutorial is inspired by the November step-by-step makeup guide in the Too Faced Boss Lady Beauty Agenda. One of my favorite aspects of this 2017 Holiday release is that every month the Beauty Agenda includes a themed, exclusive step-by-step makeup tutorial based on products provided in the palette. November’s look is called “Sweetie Pie.”

As the agenda says: “Own your pretty with a warm and delicious look that’ll have you grateful to be gorgeous.”

To create the look I’m showing you, I did use the Too Faced makeup tutorial, but I also embellished it a bit and made it my own. The makeup guide provided didn’t include foundation, brow filler, eyeliner, mascara, or lip recommendations. Therefore, I took those aspects of this makeup look into my own hands.

I like the look created by the Too Faced guide, but it wasn’t enough, it needed basics and finishing touches added to it to make it a complete and wearable look. I’ll explain everything as we go so you can re-create this look yourself with or without the Too Faced Boss Lady Beauty Agenda palette.

Too Faced Boss Lady Beauty Agenda Makeup Look

Step-by-Step Guide

– As mentioned, this guide is inspired by Too Faced, but given to you in my own words. Boss Lady Beauty Agenda palette shade names are in parentheses. –

1.) Apply your favorite powder or liquid foundation.

2.) Use concealer where necessary to cover blemishes, brighten under eye circles, and/or reduce redness.

3.) Brush a muted brown (Faux Fur Only) into your crease and blend it in.

4.) Brush a shimmering tan (Party Over Here) onto the inner and outer corners of your eyelid.

5.) Press a sparkling pink (Slay Bells) onto the center of your eyelid. Then, blend it into the shimmering tan you’ve already applied.

6.) Fill in your brows.

7.) Line your upper lash line and create a wing using your favorite gel, pencil, or liquid eyeliner in black.

8.) Apply your favorite mascara to your upper and lower lash line.

9.) Blend a bronzer (Chocolate Soleil) along your hairline, cheekbones, and jawline.

10.) Brush a highlighter (#Blessed) onto your cheekbones, above the bronzer.

11.)* Swipe a pink-brown matte liquid lipstick onto your lips.

12.)* Once the liquid lipstick has dried, apply a sheer shiny gloss.

*To simplify things: Instead of applying a matte liquid lipstick and then a gloss, just apply a super shiny pink-brown lip gloss. I didn’t have one on hand when creating this look so I layered products I did have to create exactly what I wanted!
