BeautyCounter Skincare Review

Cleanliness is a hot topic these days. When it comes to clean beauty products, particularly clean skincare, BeautyCounter skincare is a step above the rest. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of BeautyCounter Director Sally, I’ve been using the BeautyCounter+ skincare line. Here are my thoughts!

Counter+ Skin Care Favorites

The first set of products that Sally sent me to try are part of the Counter+ Skin Care Favorites set. This set is unfortunately currently sold out, but you can purchase these products individually. Sally also sent me the Baby Soothing Oil, I do not have a baby, but this oil has several uses that benefit children and adults too!

BeautyCounter Baby Soothing Oil Review

Let’s talk about the Baby Soothing Oil first, then we’ll discuss the BeautyCounter Counter+ Skincare Line. Since I do not have a baby anymore, my daughter is now 4, we’ve been using the BeautyCounter Baby Soothing Oil in alternate ways.

Much like you would use it for an infant, I apply some to my daughter’s arms and legs after her bath. She gets dry patches that become itchy and this has been tremendously helpful. She loves putting it on and has confirmed that it helps her not feel itchy.

I’ve been using the BeautyCounter Baby Soothing Oil to remove my makeup in the evenings. As you may know, I love using a facial oil in the evenings to remove my makeup before cleansing my face. This gentle oil easily removes my eye and face makeup. Since I’m using it on my face and on my daughter, I love that this oil only has 4 ingredients and that 3 are organic. I also love that it absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave my face or my daughter’s skin feeling greasy.

BeautyCounter Counter+ Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm

In the morning, I begin my skincare routine by cleansing. In the evening, I use a facial oil to remove my makeup, then I use the Counter+ Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm to cleanse my skin. I love that this cleansing balm is very gentle, yet effective.

The Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm thoroughly cleanses facial skin, removing makeup and impurities. Even though it is an excellent cleanser, it leaves your skin hydrated. It doesn’t strip away your skin’s natural moisture like some cleansers. Some of this cleansing balm’s nourishing ingredients include Lotus Extract, Jojoba Seed Oil, and Avocado Seed Oil.

BeautyCounter Counter+ No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil

After cleansing, I continue my skincare routine with a serum, moisturizing facial oil, or brightening facial oil. In the mornings I’ve been using the citrus-scented No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil. It makes my skin instantly glow! I find this facial oil nourishing and soothing. Although it absorbs quickly, it provides moisture that lasts throughout the day.

The BeautyCounter Counter+ No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil includes 3 key ingredients: Vitamin C, Avocado Oil, and Black Currant Oil. The Vitamin C gives that glow I mentioned! Avocado Oil provides nourishing moisture. Black Currant Oil, which is rich in omegas, helps maintain healthy skin. I’m enjoying trying out every product that Sally sent me, but this one is my favorite!

BeautyCounter Counter+ Overnight Resurfacing Peel

For my evening skincare routine, I swap out the No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil and instead follow the Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm up with the Overnight Resurfacing Peel. To my surprise, this is a peel that you leave on overnight to wake up to a renewed complexion. You should not smooth this on and then hop into bed though, like I do, follow it up with your favorite moisturizer.

Unlike other, harsher peels, the Overnight Resurfacing Peel utilizes both resurfacing acids and soothing acids to improve your skin’s texture by aiding in cell turnover. The resurfacing acids that this peel uses include Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, and Citric Acid. Arginine and Fatty Acids are the ones that help maintain moisture.

BeautyCounter Counter+ Charcoal Facial Mask

I love a good charcoal mask, which means I love the Counter+ Charcoal Facial Mask! This mask feels so smooth on my skin, it doesn’t feel grainy or chunky like some other charcoal masks that I’ve tried. This mask can be used morning or evening, but I prefer to use it in the morning. After cleansing with the Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm, 2-3 mornings per week I’ll put on an even layer of this facial mask.

The Counter+ Charcoal Facial Mask dries quickly, in about 10 minutes. Once it is dry, it can be rinsed off with warm water. My skin always feels so clean after using this mask. There are several benefits to using a charcoal mask like this one, charcoal masks absorb excess oil, minimize pores, purify skin, and smooth skin. If you have large pores and combination oily skin like me, charcoal masks are a must!

This stuff (Lotus glow cleansing balm) is one of my absolute favorites. It’s amazing, it does so many different things. You only need a little bit, about an almond size. I don’t use it every day for sure, I probably use it like maybe once a week but you certainly could use it every day. All you need is about an almond size (that might even be like a little bit too much) and I have one small plastic applicator.

this product is really amazing because it’s not just for your face, it takes off your makeup, it cleanses… say you have really dry chapped hands you could put it onto your hands, put in some gloves overnight or just rub it in dry ashy elbows heels.

    Great review Morgan!

I heard great things about Beauty Counter when I was researching clean lipstick brands! I really like the sleek black packaging for this range. I’m looking for a new Vitamin C so I might try out their Brightening Facial Oil! I love that it’s a mix of three different oils.

Hey Laura! If you’re looking for a new source of Vitamin C for your skincare Beautycounter has a few options. The Facial Oil is wonderful but we also have a brand new All Bright C Serum with 10% stable C. The clinical results were impressive too. If you’d like more information or a sample, I would be happy to provide that for you. ~Sally
