Motivational Music For Mondays

January has come and gone. Can you believe it?! By now, many people have already lost their motivation to keep their New Year’s resolution. That’s why I’ve put together this playlist of motivational music for Mondays. My hope is that this playlist will help you get through every Monday this year and that it will help you keep your New Year’s resolution whatever it may be!

Start Your Monday With High, High Hopes

Some songs on this playlist have motivational lyrics, some just have a great beat. “High Hopes” by Panic! At The Disco is one of my favorites on the list. When I told my husband that I was making a motivational playlist and needed some suggestions, this was the first song that he recommended. I had already put it first on the list! Here’s a sample of the lyrics:

Had to have high, high hopes for a living

Shooting for the stars when I couldn’t make a killing

Didn’t have a dime but I always had a vision

Always had high, high hopes

Had to have high, high hopes for a living

Didn’t know how but I always had a feeling

I was gonna be that one in a million

Always had high, high hopes

Mama said

Fulfill the prophecy

Be something greater

Go make a legacy

Manifest destiny

Back in the days

We wanted everything, wanted everything

“High Hopes” by Panic! At The Disco

I like to pretend this song is why my daughter calls me “mama.” I’ve never referred to myself as “mama.” No one in our family has either so it must come from somewhere and we have listened to this song a lot together!

Listen to this playlist with these!

Motivational Music From Then And Now

Other songs like “Never Really Over” by Katy Perry and “Don’t Start Now” by Dua Lipa aren’t motivational when it comes to lyrics but they do boost my mood. For me, being in a good mood is step one when it comes to feeling motivated.

The songs on this playlist span a few decades. I threw in “More Than A Feeling” by Boston because I used to listen to it every morning during my sophomore year of college. Seriously, every morning. It helped me get up and get going. It also helped me set a positive tone for my entire day.

BTW, “Like A Prayer” by Madonna just came on in the coffee shop that I’m currently working at, I love this song! It’s been added to the list. Speaking of coffee…

Enjoying this post? “Buy me a coffee” to let me know! 🙂

My son calls me Mama and it warms my heart. Love your playlist! Break My Stride has always immediately put me in a great mood! Another personal favorite is Sailing Away by Christopher Cross – the melody and lyrics calm the soul …. ????
