This weekend I challenge you to take a few moments to yourself. For just a few minutes or longer, give yourself the opportunity to enjoy some guilt-free me-time. I’m thinking I’m going to do something quick that is really simple this weekend, a sheet mask. Sheet masks or any type of face masks are one of the easiest ways to relax your mind and treat your skin at home.

Even if you don’t have a sheet mask on hand, you could pick one up down the street at a drugstore or while you’re running errands at Walmart or Target. If you have a little more time and money on hand, head over to Sephora, Ulta, or a specialty skincare boutique to pick out something extra special.
Take a quick look at your skin to gauge what type of sheet mask would benefit you the most. If your skin is looking dull, grab a brightening mask. If you’re concerned about fine lines or wrinkles, grab a firming mask. If you have no idea where to start, keep things simple and grab a hydrating mask. Everyone could use some extra moisture, especially during the winter months. The point of this me-time with a mask is to do what best suits you, no matter how simple or specific that may be.
I’m going to go with a sheet mask this weekend that should be left on for 15 to 20 minutes. I’m going to take full advantage of the mask and leave it on for the full 20 minutes. One of my favorite parts about sheet masks is that once you take them off you don’t need to rinse your face with water. Rub in any product left and let it absorb into your skin.
If sitting around doing nothing while wearing your mask sounds like a nightmare, then don’t just sit around, multi-task. I like to multi-task by taking care of my skin and taking care of myself in general. I challenge you to do the same. Put on a sheet mask this weekend and while you’re wearing it do something for yourself. Read a book, flip through a magazine, listen to music, watch TV, take a bath, whatever sounds good to you. I’m thinking I’ll check out a new TV show or listen to some records.
