Confession – I’ve never had a blowout, until last week that is. Are you as shocked as they were at StyleDash Beauty Lounge when I told them? Given my hair type, I never really got what blowouts were about besides having someone else style your hair for you. After getting my very first blowout at StyleDashSF, I get it. Blowouts guarantee your hair will look perfect the next time your heading to dinner, a party, a photo shoot, or any other special event. They’re also an affordable treat you can give yourself any time you’d like to have your hair looking extra fabulous.
I was invited to visit StyleDashSF for a complimentary blowout a few weeks ago and could not wait to make and attend my appointment. Appointments can conveniently be made online at StyleDashSF.com. Checking their site, I see that I could make an appointment at this very moment (a Friday afternoon at 3:30pm) and get a blowout done in less than an hour. Walk-ins are welcome, but if you book online through Yelp you can get 10% Off your blowout.
StyleDashSF is conveniently located in the charming, upscale Union Street Shopping District in Cow Hollow in San Francisco. Before or after your blowout, take a stroll down the street to shop at stores like Sephora, Jo Malone, Sur La Table, and Lush. After my blowout, I was feeling fancy and couldn’t help but stop in Sephora to pick out some glittery goodies. Parking can be a challenge in this area so I’d recommend heading into one of the parking garages if street parking isn’t readily available. I opted for a parking garage parking spot when I attended my blowout on a Friday, mid-morning.
StyleDash Beauty Lounge is a stylish salon with a few hair washing stations and several chairs on either side of the mirrored workplace. After having my hair shampooed twice to get all of the gunk out, I took a seat in front of one of the oversize mirrors and my stylist got ready to work his magic. Throughout the process, he gave me several tips to get my blowout to last for 3 days. The biggest quick tips I can give you right now are dry shampoo and shower caps.
He dried my hair in sections and brushed my hair upwards at the roots to increase volume. He used a round brush to give my hair a curly wave. For me, the process was fairly quick. During my blowout I relaxed, zoned out a bit, and created some Insta stories. I felt like I was a model getting ready for a photo shoot or runway show, I felt glamorous!
Once my blowout was complete, my hair felt amazing! I didn’t have it cut, but it felt lighter than it did when I walked in. My hair had a lot of movement, it looked smooth, and it had a lot of healthy shine. Bottom line: blowouts make your hair look glorious. I would highly recommend getting blowouts to anyone, but especially to those who have frizzy hair or any other unruly hair type.
Personally, I don’t see myself getting blowouts done regularly. After getting one though, I do plan on getting them done before future events. Getting ready is so much easier when someone else does the work for you. Plus, for a little bit extra you can get one or a few braids done with your blowout. I love braids and definitely want to get a blowout with one or more braids before my next event or night out. When my little one is a few years older, I’d love to have her tag along. StyleDashSF offers Junior blowouts for kids 10 and under. That sounds like the perfect Galentine’s Day or Bday present to me!
In addition to blowouts, you can enjoy Scalp Massages or Scrubs, Dry Styling, Healthy Trims, Updos, Half Updos, and getting your makeup done at StyleDashSF in San Francisco. You can even have clip-on hair extensions put in for a nominal fee. StyleDashSF truly offers every service necessary to get glam. If you plan on taking advantage of StyleDashSF’s services on a regular basis, be sure to explore their packages to save some cash. Blowout packages are offered in 3 packs, 6 packs, and 12 packs.
