If you’re reading this in Europe or on the East Coast of the US, RITUALS is a familiar name to you. But for us West Coasters, RITUALS is exciting and new. RITUALS just opened up a couple of weeks ago and this sanctuary of a store is conveniently located in Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek.

The Ritual of Hammam Bay Area Beauty Blogger

For those of you, like me, who are new to the brand, here is a little bit of background. RITUALS is a bath, body, beauty, and home brand with several different lines of products. This may sound boring, but I assure you that this is not your average self-care brand. RITUALS is all about celebrating ancient traditions and making YOU feel good.

Inspired by the wisdom and ancient traditions of Asian cultures, we created an extensive collection of luxurious yet affordable products for home and body. We hope to enrich your life using unique signature fragrances that are carefully designed and composed by the world’s finest perfumers.
The brand celebrates 8 core Rituals…
  • The Ritual of Samurai
  • The Ritual of Dao
  • The Ritual of Cleopatra
  • The Ritual of Namaste
  • The Ritual of Hammam
  • The Ritual of Happy Buddha
  • The Ritual of Ayurveda
  • The Ritual of Sakura
For the Winter months, the brand is also celebrating The Ritual of Yalda. I’d really love to explore the Ritual of Yalda more with you, but for today, let’s take a deeper look into The Ritual of Hammam, a purifying ceremony.
The Ritual of Hammam Small Gift Set
The Hammam is one of the oldest cleansing tradtitions in the world. This steam bath experience from the East purifies both body and soul. This ancient custom inspired us to create a modern Hammam collection for your home. Close your eyes and feel the warmth of your own personal wellness ceremony.
Each collection features many of the same products in their respective scents, but each collection also includes its own unique products. The Ritual of Hammam offers an exfoliating glove, hot scrub, black soap, and body mud that you won’t find when browsing the other rituals.
The Ritual of Hammam Gift Box
Being the Holiday season, one of the items I was gifted when visiting RITUALS brand new Walnut Creek boutique was the Purifying Treat Gift Set ($29.50). This gift set, which has a great price point for gifting, includes:
  • The Ritual of Hammam Foaming Shower Gel – Enriched with refreshing Eucalyptus and revitalizing Rosemary.
  • The Ritual of Hammam Black Soap – Based on refreshing Eucalyptus and nourishing pure Olive Oil.
  • The Ritual of Hammam Body Cream – Enriched with organic Eucalyptus and Rosemary.
  • The Ritual of Hammam Hand Wash – Enriched with authentic Hammam scents, Eucalyptus and Rosemary.

The Ritual of Hammam refreshing foaming shower gel

The Foaming Shower Gel has a consistency I’ve never experienced before. It is their best selling product which makes perfect sense to me. The Foaming Shower Gel, from this ritual and all of the others, feels silky smooth on your skin. It reminds me of thick, hydrating shaving cream. If you are interested in the brand, I would highly recommend experiencing this product first, it is a wonderful introduction to the brand and its affordable luxuriousness. A full-size Foaming Shower Gel costs $15.00.

The Ritual of Hammam black soap

The Black Soap, which is unique to The Ritual of Hammam line of products, is a massaging soap with a paste-like texture. Again, it is like nothing I’ve ever tried before. This soap removes dead skin cells and prepares the skin for exfoliation. I’d take advantage of the state that it leaves your skin in by following it up with the Kessa Glove or the Hot scrub. This level of cleansing isn’t necessary every time you shower. Depending on how sensitive your skin is it can be done 2-3 times a week. Full size, the Black Soap costs $15.00.

The Ritual of Hammam soul uplifting body cream

The Body Cream will keep your skin soft and silky after exiting the shower, especially during these drying winter months. Besides smelling and feeling amazing, the body creams are eco-friendly. When one jar is empty, you don’t need to replace the entire jar. Buy a refill instead. For all of you savvy shoppers reading, you can easily skip the full-size product and go straight for the refill to save some cash. The full-size Body Cream costs $33.00, the refill costs $29.00.

The Ritual of Hammam wash away hand soap

The Hand Wash is one of the most decadent hand washes I’ve ever used. Quick side note, a refill of this is also available. This product is called a hand wash as opposed to a soap because it’s soap-free. Being soap-free, this hand wash hydrates and protects your hands as you wash them. All you need is 1-2 pumps to cleanse and revitalize your hands. The full-size Hand Wash costs $14.00, the refill costs $12.00.

The Ritual of Hammam Compostable Packaging

This gift set and gifts sets from all of the rituals are perfect for yourself or someone else. They’re affordable, include an array of fresh smelling products, and they’re packaged in a keepsake box that doubles as gift wrap and a gift itself. The boxes that the gift sets are packaged in are well-made and beautiful. Since the insert in the gift box doesn’t have much use once the gift is unwrapped it is 100% compostable to minimize waste.

Take a look at the RITUALS boutique in Walnut Creek’s Broadway Plaza. Stop in anytime for a free hand treatment. I had a hand treatment done and it made my left hand look visibly younger. It was so incredible I had to have a photo taken. The hand treatment sink is located in the center aisle of the boutique, under the RITUALS tree. The RITUALS boutique is located between Free People and Sephora. You know you’ll already be hitting up those shops so be sure to take a minute to treat yourself and pop into RITUALS.

The focal point of every RITUALS boutique is the hand painted tree in the center of the store. These trees are very important to the brand and only one person is trusted with installing them in each and every one of their stores, there are 800+ trees installed all over the world. The brand has even delayed boutique grand openings to give their trusted tree-installer a chance to do their work. I get it. The tree in the center of the store grabs your attention and looks stunning. It sets the relaxing, celebratory tone for the entire boutique.

RITUALS Boutique The Ritual of Yalda

The limited edition collection currently available is displayed proudly towards the front of the store. I immediately fell in love with The Ritual of Yalda’s scent and its packaging. The scent is a combination of pomegranate and watermelon; it’s uplifting. When you’re feeling a little down during what can be dreary winter months, The Ritual of Yalda products will help lift your spirits. This collection uniquely offers bath bombs, a first for RITUALS, and a massage candle. I’m hoping Santa brings me a few goodies from this collection.

Thank you for inviting me in RITUALS, I can’t wait to visit the boutique again!

Are YOU now a new fan of RITUALS too? Let’s keep the conversation going, please let me know your thoughts in the comments!
