The best way to have beautiful skin is to take care of it. Pamper your skin and it will thank you by looking flawless and bright. Proper treatment of your skin requires a little bit of time and the right skin care products for your skin. I have combination skin so the products I use in my skin care routine will be different from yours if you have very dry skin or very oily skin. No matter what skin type you have, following this routine every morning before applying makeup will give you a better feeling and better-looking skin. If you do have combination skin, like me, you can go ahead and not only follow this routine but use the same products that I do too.

My morning skincare routine consists of 6 steps:
- Cleansing.
- Toning.
- Applying a serum.
- Applying eye cream.
- Moisturizing.
- Protecting my skin from the sun.
End of post.
Just kidding. For each of these steps, I’ll talk about the benefit of doing them and the products I recommend using for each one (if you have combination skin). I’m always trying out new products and moving products in and out of my routine, so today I will highlight which products are currently making the cut.
Step 1: CLEANSING
Washing your skin is important for removing impurities. Your skin won’t need a deep cleaning in the morning since you’ve already removed your makeup the night before, gentle cleansing is all that’s required.
Because it is gentle, and a good option for sensitive skin, I’m currently loving Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber De-Tox Foaming Cleanser.
Step 2: TONING
Toning your face has 2 purposes, it removes any debris and oil left behind after cleansing and it soothes and hydrates your skin.
The toner that is currently part of my routine is Thayer’s Alcohol-free Rose Petal Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera.
Step 3: APPLYING A SERUM
Serum is an additional moisturizer that penetrates deep into your skin. Serums help give your skin a smooth texture. Depending on what type of formula you choose to use serums can help reduce redness and fight wrinkles.
I’m about to finish up a bottle of my current favorite serum from a local, all-natural skin care company: Heliotrope San Francisco. I’ve been using and am loving the Rose & Nettle Daytime Face Serum.
Step 4: APPLYING EYE CREAM
Eye creams are key when it comes to youthful looking skin. The skin around the eye area is delicate so it is important to use products specifically for use in this area. Eye creams moisturize, reduce the appearance of dark circles, combat puffiness, and smooth out fine lines.
For eye cream, I use Needles No More – No More Baggage by dr. Brandt Skincare.
Step 5: MOISTURIZING
The purpose of this step is obvious, dry skin does not look good, hydrated skin does! Moisturized skin always looks smooth and glowing.
My tried and true moisturizer is also from dr. Brandt. I’ve been using this moisturizer for a few years and don’t see myself swapping is out of my routine any time soon. My all-time favorite moisturizer is the Pores No More Age Fighting Mattifying Lotion.
Step 6: PROTECTING MY SKIN FROM THE SUN
When it comes to fighting signs of aging, using a product with SPF is a must! To cut out this last step you can use a moisturizer with SPF and complete your morning skincare routine in just 5 steps.
Since my favorite moisturizer does not have SPF in it, I like to use Neutrogena Age Shield Anti-Oxidant Face Lotion Sunscreen.
How many steps are in your skincare routine?

It’s a great toner! Thanks for reading, I’m glad you enjoyed the post!
I feel like NO ONE TALKS ABOUT THIS TONER and it’s amazing. I personally prefer the lavender for redness but I always hear great stuff about the rose petal version.
