ZooLights 2017 at the San Francisco Zoo

Merry Christmas Eve! As part of our holiday celebration (we’ve been celebrating all month!) we paid our annual visit to ZooLights at the San Francisco Zoo.

ZooLights will be open for almost this entire week! ZooLights is open 5:00pm to 8:00pm Tuesday (12/26) to Saturday (12/30). Admission prices are as follows:

  • Onsite Ticket Purchase:
    Adults: $10
    Youth 4-14: $8
    Kids 3 and under: FREE
  • Purchase Your Tickets Online and Save $2!
    Adults: $8
    Youth 4-14: $6
    Kids 3 and under: FREE
  • Members do not need tickets, just bring your membership card and ID to enter.

Parking: $10 (first come, first served – I wouldn’t expect the dedicated Zoo parking lot to be full, but if it is, you can park on Sloat Blvd.)

Note: The only animals you will be able to see during ZooLights hours are the reindeer. Also, big disappointment, the Little Puffer Steam Train is not running this year.

The display overall is much smaller than last year, but here is what you can do at ZooLights 2017:

  • Visit the Reindeer
  • Play in the “snow”
  • Ride the Carousel
  • Listen to the Carolers
  • Play on the Playground
  • Say “Hi!” to Santa!

Here’s what I did during my visit!

Upon entering the zoo, I was greeted by the big tree in Entry Village!

I next visited my favorite part of ZooLights this year, the enormous wall of lights on Zoo Street!

There are so many twinkling lights!

Another highlight: the animals made of Christmas lights! There’s a rhinoceros, lion, and elephant. The kids LOVE them, I do too!

The carousel costs extra, but is totally worth it!

Have the best time today, tonight, and tomorrow!

One more thing before you go, don’t forget to enter my giveaway! The winner will be contacted via e-mail on December 29th.

Now, I’m off to enjoy the holidays too! Bay Area Beauty Blogger is taking the week off, but will still be posting daily on social media. Let’s keep in touch on Instagram and Twitter! I’ll be back on the blog in the New Year!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

XOXOXO
