I wore this outfit while strolling along the Willamette River, exploring the Portland Saturday Market, and tasting some local brews at Willamette Week’s Beer Pro/Am.
As expected the weather in Portland was chilly and rainy while we were there, but we were lucky and did get 3 days of sunshine and even a little warmth. Saturday was the day the sun broke through the clouds, but it wasn’t really warming up yet so I decided to go with one of my favorite Fall combinations: Dress, Tights, Boots.
Along with these 3 Fall wardrobe staples, I added a Dolman sleeve cardigan and large blanket-like gray scarf. Side note, I got the scarf in Portland! I was not prepared for the chilliness when we first arrived so we ran into Nordstrom and I got this TopShop scarf for $30.00. I kept the overall look simple, adding my favorite Henri Bendel bag and my everyday black diamond studs.
Portland is a beautiful city and I’ll be writing more about my experiences there soon!
As mentioned, after walking along the Willamette River, we visited the Portland Saturday Market and then Willamette Week’s Beer Pro/Am. The Portland Saturday Market is the largest continuously held outdoor market in the US. It’s an arts and crafts market open every Saturday and Sunday from March through Christmas Eve. There were so many interesting, beautiful, and unique items for purchase. I highly recommend perusing this market if given the chance.
Willamette Week’s Beer Pro/Am is a competition that pairs home brewers with professional brewers. There were 21 experimental and unique brews to try, a DJ, vendors, and a Retro Gaming Lounge. The larger than life games were fun, the music was good, and some of the beer was fantastic. Other brews, not so much. But, that’s the fun of attending beer competitions, you find diamonds in the rough and taste beers that aren’t available anywhere else in the world.
