BarkBox August 2017 Subscription Box Review

The BarkBox Break Down:

This monthly box of joy for your furry children includes dog toys, treats, and gifts. Specifically, each month you can expect to receive 2 toys (that area seriously durable), 2 bags of all-natural treats, and 1 chew. Each month has a fun theme, for example this month’s theme is “Invasion of the Space Squirrels!” If your dog doesn’t like any items in the box, let BarkBox know and they’ll send you a replacement for free!

There is also a secondary BarkBox option, it’s called the Super Chewer Box. It includes 4-6 Super Chewer items and is made for dogs who need a challenge. The toys and chews are even tougher and sturdier than what’s included in the regular box. With the way our dogs quickly chew through toys, I thought they’d need this, but surprisingly they don’t!

  • $29.00 (BarkBox) or $39.00 (Super Chewer) per month.
  • $25.00 (BarkBox) or $34.00 (Super Chewer) per month with a 6-month plan.
  • $21.00 (BarkBox) or $29.00 (Super Chewer) per month with a 12-month plan.
  • There is a $5.00 shipping charge outside of the contiguous 48 states.

Shipping: The first time you order a box you can expect it to arrive in 2-8 business days in the US and in 7-12 business days if you live in the outer US or in Canada. After the initial box, your boxes will be shipped on the 15th of every month.

Cancellation: You can easily cancel your subscription on BarkBox’s website, just sign into your account, click “Subscriptions,” and then click “Cancel Next Plan.”

There is a whole array of themed items that could have been included in my  August 2017 BarkBox, but these are the awesome items my Boston Terriers received:

  • Peaceful Percy Space Squirrel - $10.00
  • Bark Pops - $8.00
  • Space Laser Toy - ?
  • Flying Saucer Snacks – $6.00
  • Pig Ear Chew ?

In addition to these products, there were Canine-O-Vision glasses that decoded secret messages on the packaging paper – adorable. 🙂 There was also an announcement card that revealed that Barkbox toys and treats are now available at Target! Living in the city, I don’t shop much at stores (I shop online), nevertheless I found this announcement to be exciting!

Let me start by saying that one box is meant for one dog, but I’ll be honest, we split the one box between our 2 Boston Terriers and that works out fine. Usually, between the 2 of them, they’ll destroy one toy almost immediately, but the 2nd one will LAST. This is shocking to me because, as I mentioned, our dogs are chewers. I’ve never seen toys last as long in our house as these have. We still have a little canvas “weekender tote” toy from several boxes ago that shows no signs of being torn apart anytime soon.

As always, my dogs were eager to try the treats and the chew and they appeared to love them all!

All items from this month’s box, plus so much more, can be purchased at whenever you want. If you’re not interested in a subscription, just go for some treats or toys from the Bark Shop. They also sell doggie apparel, stuff for humans (mugs, apparel, books), and all kinds of gifts (for dogs and for dog people).

Bottom Line:  I’m not sure why some of the products that I received have disappeared from the Bark Shop, maybe it was the space squirrels? LOL I’m hilarious! That’s called sarcasm. Anyway, my dogs loved this box just as much as they’ve loved each and every BarkBox that they’ve received! I’m looking forward to seeing next month’s theme. 🙂

Do you subscribe to BarkBox? If so, what kind of dog(s) do you have?
