When planning my outfit, I decided that I wanted to wear a rock band t-shirt with a deep v-neck and lacing. The problem was, I didn’t have one of those. So, what did I do? I made one! More on that in an upcoming DIY tutorial post. For now, we’ll focus on this The Neighbourhood t-shirt that I chose to wear.

What To Wear To a Rock Concert 101
Never wear a shirt with the band on it that you’re going to see. Read that sentence again. . .ok, now we can continue. We know you like them, you’re here. If you’ve done this, no worries! Now you know for next time. 🙂 I saw many people doing this wrong at the Green Day concert, but I also saw many people doing it right wearing Nirvana, Rolling Stones, and Guns N’ Roses t-shirts.
High waist skinny black jeans and black booties were the obvious choices for pants and shoes to accompany my rock band tee. The booties were comfortable, but they still gave me some height. Us little ones need that so we can see the stage!
To accessorize the outfit I put on a simple black lava rock and tiger eye bracelet, a black choker with a crystal attached, black diamond stud earrings, and a clutch. The clutch helped break up all of that black, plus I absolutely love the shiny gold studs and purple rose print that both make this clutch a standout.
What I Wore
- T-Shirt – From a The Neighbourhood concert – I cut in the v-neck and added the lacing.
- Black Jeans – TopShop
- Black Booties – Express
- Lava Rock and Tiger Eye Bracelet – Yogi Surprise
- Black Choker with Crystal Pendant – Ambiance
- Black Diamond Earrings – Zales
- Clutch – Betsey Johnson
We saw Green Day play in Billie Joe and Mike’s home city of Oakland. The Oakland Coliseum, where the Oakland Athletics play, was a really interesting place to see a huge rock concert.
I’ve never been to a stadium concert before, I enjoyed it but I think as far as large scale concerts go, I’m partial to arenas and amphitheaters. The layout was just a bit strange, but the show did close with a short fireworks display so there was that awesomeness.
Green Day put on an incredible show and I highly recommend going to see them if given the chance! They were full of energy and they did an excellent job of pleasing all of their fans by playing songs that span their lengthy 30-year career.
Other bands take note, Green Day knows how to put on a fan-pleasing and thoroughly entertaining show.
What do you think of this rock concert outfit?
