theBalm Schwing Liquid Eyeliner is a fabulous liquid eyeliner. It has a good price, is cruelty free, and is easy to apply. The formula is also quick drying. It is very shiny when you initially apply it, but after it dries, this liquid eyeliner has a rich, matte black finish. I find this liquid eyeliner to be long-lasting too, I apply it in the morning and forget about it. It still looks great when I go to remove it at the end of the day. Even with oily eyelids, this liquid liner doesn’t smudge or feather at all throughout the day. Learn more here.
Being so long-lasting, you may think that this eyeliner is difficult to remove, luckily that is not the case! This liquid eyeliner comes off easily, even when using gentle eye makeup remover.
theBalm Schwing Liquid Eyeliner only comes in black. I’d love if it were available in multiple shades and I hope it will be in the future. I’d really love to get it in navy blue, deep purple, and maybe even forest green; all of these in addition to the gorgeous black it already comes in of course!
To apply this liner you simply unscrew the cap, remove excess product, and swipe it on. If you don’t remove the excess product on the felt tip, you’ll end up with too much liquid causing it to pool and create a mess along your lashes.
The applicator tip is thin and tapered felt, it is slightly flexible but still rigid enough to maintain control over. Controlling exactly where the liquid eyeliner is applied allows you to easily create thin or thick precise lines and bold wings.
Creating winged eyeliner is possible and easy with this liquid liner. For a full tutorial on how to do perfect winged eyeliner, check out the tutorial I posted on Monday. In my tutorial, I use medical tape to easily do perfect winged liner, but, as mentioned, this liquid liner is so easy to control that using medical tape isn’t necessary, it’s just helpful.
I purchased this liquid eyeliner from kohls.com (Shop it Here) for $17.00. It’s pricey, but the cost is worth it.
The packaging leaves something to be desired. It’s fine and functional, but I find that after several weeks of use, the sticker applied to the tube containing the product tends to start lifting off. This doesn’t effect how easy this liquid eyeliner is to apply, it’s just kind of annoying.
My husband found the packaging intriguing, picking it up, examining it, and asking Schwing? Yeah, I don’t know why they call it that. As far as I know, and my husband knows, “schwing” is from Wayne’s World! Keeping things PG: Garth and Wayne say it when they’re talking about hot chicks. lol. In the case of this eyeliner, the hot chicks are seeing a hot guy, so you know, Schwing!? I don’t know what that has to do with eyeliner, I just find the name amusing so I had to write a little something about it, moving on . . . 🙂

Bottom Line:Â I’ve tried several liquid eyeliners and this is the one that I re-purchase time and time again! I think that says it all! Schwing! 😀
