Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation Review

This fabulous foundation caught my eye because it is well-reviewed, cruelty free, vegan, and full coverage. Yes, yes, yes, and yes. I’m here to join the chorus and sing its praises. If me using it on a daily basis isn’t enough to convince you that this foundation is amazing, than just keep reading to get the details and see some of the looks I’ve created with this foundation.

There are currently 32 shades of Lock-It Foundation available. This foundation is creamy and the air tight container allows you to apply the perfect amount of makeup with just 1 pump. For a truly perfect canvas, I use 1 and 1/2 to 2 pumps. One or 1 and 1/2 to 2 pumps will give you a velvety, matte finish.

I have combination skin, and this foundation keeps me shine free all day. Being a long-lasting foundation, you’re guaranteed to have an even skin tone that completely covers all blemishes and controls shine for as long as you’d like.

In addition to staying put, Lock-It Foundation isn’t supposed to transfer. I’ve found that right after applying the foundation it can rub off easily as it takes a little bit of time to set. After it sets, I forget I’m wearing it. Being as full coverage as it is, it is unexpected but, this foundation feels very light.

I purchased this foundation from katvondbeauty.com (Shop It Here) for $35.00.

I must add a little something about the packaging, because it’s gorgeous! The new design is more streamlined than the previous one, it’s very clean looking. According to the site, Kat Von D herself hand-sketched the logo on the front of the box to resemble the look of hot wax freshly stamped with the Kat Von D insignia.

The little “wax seal” that comes with the product bottle is my favorite part of the packaging. I love the classic meets modern look of it.

You can apply this foundation with a brush or sponge. Personally, I apply it with my finger tips and then blend it in with a makeup sponge.

I don’t mean to sound like a broken record, but I use this foundation everyday! Here are just a few of the looks I’ve created using it.

Bottom Line: When you want a full coverage, flawless look, you must use this cruelty free and vegan foundation! Enough said.

If this foundation isn’t your favorite, than please let me know what is in the comments below!

My favourite foundation at the moment is Maybelline Fit Me foundation but i will definitely be trying this one out soon as i’ve heard amazing things about it. Do you think it would be suitable for dry skin? Great review xx

To be perfectly honest, I’m not sure. I think it would work fine on dry skin, but I can’t say that I’m 100% positive that it would.

No, I didn’t! I thought it was surprisingly light for such a full coverage foundation.

I was so disappointed with this foundation, it was hard to blend and it did not last for more than four hours on me. I do have extremely oily skin, very different from your combination skin. I am happy you liked it, it looks great on you!

That’s terrible, but thank you so much for sharing! Makeup works so differently on everyone, it’s always good to know how other people’s experiences compare.
