How to Create A Bold Lip Makeup Look

For a bold lip during the day, I like to keep my eye makeup clean and minimal. In addition to mascara, I’ll only add a little black eye liner to the outer corners of my lower lids.

The highlight of this look is clearly the liquid lipstick. The lipstick I’m wearing in this look is Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick – Miss Conduct.

Miss Conduct is described as a deep/warm plum and I absolutely love it. I’ve always gone for deep brick reds, but it turns out that deep plums are more complimentary to my coloring.

This is the 2nd shade I’ve purchased from this line because these liquid lipsticks are VERY long-lasting and they feel really light. I forget that I have it on, which I can’t say for other long-wear lip colors I’ve tried that dry out my lips or just plain feel uncomfortable and sticky. I didn’t get this lipstick for free and this is not a sponsored post, I just really love this lipstick! If I could get it for free, I’d be sooooo happy!

Creating this look is pretty straight forward, but I have detailed out the steps to re-creating it below anyway. πŸ˜‰

Step 1. Create a flawless canvas to work with by applying your favorite concealer, foundation, and brow filler.

Step 2. Apply a black eyeliner to the outer corners of your waterline.

Step 3. Brush on mascara, go for a voluminous and lengthening formula.

Step 4. Carefully apply your bold lip color. I recommend a liquid lipstick for long lasting color. Use makeup remover or concealer to edit any application mistakes.

Step 5. Give your liquid lipstick a few minutes to dry and then enjoy your day! I’ll sing the praises of Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick – Miss Conduct one last time, I ate an apple while wearing this lipstick and it still looked fabulous! It’s amazing.

Are you a fan of bold lips?

I absolutely love the Smashbox Always On Lippies and I don’t understand why they don’t get more hype! My favorite shade is “Driver’s Seat” – Its the perfect my-lips-but-better color for me. Miss Conduct looks wonderful on you though! Great post <3
