13 Beauty Subscription Boxes to Try in 2017

We’ve all heard of, and probably tried, Ipsy, Play! by Sephora, and Birchbox, but what about Glowing Beets, TestTube by NewBeauty, or BeautyFix? I’ve curated a list of beauty subscription boxes for you to try in 2017. Keep reading for what’s so special about each subscription box, its cost, how often it ships, how many products you can expect to receive, and the size of those products.


1.) MISHIBOX

What it is: A K-Beauty Box that will send you adorable and exciting products from a range of  well-known Korean beauty brands. They’ll send brands they think you’ll love, and also brands that may be difficult to access outside of Korea.

Cost: $19.95 per month.

Shipment: Boxes are shipped in waves, starting mid-month, until boxes are sold out. Tentative ship dates for the rest of the year can be found on their site, click here to get that info.

What You’ll Receive: 5-6 deluxe sample size and full size Korean beauty products shipped from right here in the USA. Instructions and ingredients are in English, but since they are Korean, all of the included beauty products come with expiration dates. The US needs to get expiration dates on their beauty products ASAP!

2.) Petit Vour

What it is: A subscription box full of vegan, cruelty-free, and non-toxic, ethically-made beauty products. This beauty box promises to send you “the crème de la cruelty free.” This simply means that all brands included in a Petit Vour box provide greater transparency, utilize fair labor practices, and are made with cleaner ingredients and materials.

Cost: $15.00 per month.

Shipment: Boxes are shipped in batches from the 10th to the 20th of the month. When you first subscribe, you may get your box outside of this window depending on inventory.

What You’ll Receive: 4-5 beauty products, ranging from sample to full size. Usually, you’ll receive 1 color item, 1 hair care product or fragrance, 1 skincare item, and 1 body care item.

3.) Walmart Beauty

What it is: Products in the Walmart Beauty Box are hand selected based on your life-stage. Products are also seasonally relevant.

Cost: Free + $5.00 Shipping and Handling.

Shipment: Boxes ship every 3 months, the 2nd week of March, June, September, and December.

What You’ll Receive: It isn’t clear on the website, but it looks like you’ll get about 7 sample size products to try out. If you’ve received this box, please let me know in the comments how many products were sent to you! Once I receive a box, I’ll update this info. to be more specific.

4. ) Beauteque Monthly

What it is: Korean beauty products with a new theme each month. With this box, you’ll be the first to experience the latest in beauty technology.

Cost: The BB Bag is $24.00 per month. The Mask Maven is $15.00 per month. For each, the price drops slightly if you prepay and subscribe to 6 or 12 months of boxes.

Shipment: Monthly, between the 16th and 23rd of each month.

What You’ll Receive: In the BB Bag you’ll receive 6 full size products, including a mix of skincare, makeup, body care products, and more. For the Mask Maven, you’ll receive an assortment of 9 masks sourced from Korea and Taiwan.

5.) Orglamix

What it is: This box contains all kinds of good. It includes a mixture of healthy, cruelty free, vegan, and socially responsible cosmetics. For every box sold, a meal is donated to an orphaned child in need.

Cost: $29.00 monthly, with a decrease in the monthly cost if you commit to 6 or 12 months of boxes.

Shipment: Boxes ship every month on the 5th.

What You’ll Receive: Each month you’ll receive 4-6 cosmetics based on seasonal themes. In addition to these cruelty free and vegan beauty products, you’ll also receive a $10.00 gift card for orglamix.com. Woo! Free money!

6.) Glowing Beets

What it is: Glowing Beets is a box full of non-toxic and cruelty free products that are all natural. There are no harmful chemicals here!

Cost: $29.95 + $5.99 for shipping.

Shipment: Boxes are shipped monthly.

What You’ll Receive: Every month you can look forward to receiving 4-5 deluxe sample size or full size products made of only clean ingredients.

7.) TestTube by NewBeauty

What it is: There are A LOT of products to try in each TestTube.  These products aren’t just for sampling either, these products are sent to solve your biggest makeup, hair, skin, and body problems.

Cost: $29.95 + $8.95 for shipping and handling.

Shipment: Test tubes are delivered 6 times a year, on a bimonthly basis.

What You’ll Receive: You can expect about twice as many products as you would in any other beauty box. You’ll get 10 or more full size and deluxe sample size products.

8.) LoveGoodly

Cost: $29.95 every 2 months.

Shipment: This box is shipped on a bimonthly basis.

What You’ll Receive: A mixture of 4-5 full size and deluxe sample size beauty and skincare products, healthy snacks, home products, and/or accessories.

9.) BeautyFIX

What it is: The BeautyFIX subscription box is curated by skin experts and contains professional-grade and hard-to-find spa makeup, skin, and hair care products.

Cost: $24.95 on a monthly basis or you can make a one-time purchase of the box for $34.95.

Shipment: You’ll receive this box once a month.

What You’ll Receive: 6+ mostly full size and deluxe travel size products.

10.) BoxyCharm

What it is: BoxyCharm contains full size items only, no deluxe sample size or sample size products here! This box includes makeup, skincare, and beauty tools.

Cost: $21.00 a month, with the cost going down slightly if you commit to 3-month, 6-month, or 12-month subscriptions.

Shipment: You’ll receive this box on a monthly basis.

What You’ll Receive: 4-5 full size items from emerging and already established beauty brands.

11.) VeganCuts Makeup Box

What it is: The VeganCuts Makeup Box includes seasonal full size vegan, paraben-free, and cruelty-free makeup, ranging from mascara to nail polish. Products included are natural, non-toxic, and certified organic as often as possible.

Cost: $39.95 per quarter.

Shipment: Boxes are shipped every 3 months, in March, June, September, and December.

What You’ll Receive: Each quarter you’ll receive 4 or more full size makeup items. On occasion, bonus sample size products will be sent in addition to your 4 or more full size products.

12.) VeganCuts Beauty Box

What it is: This beauty box delivers new products to try every month. Products vary from unique cosmetics to luxurious skincare. There are no parabens in this box, and products are cruelty-free and mostly organic and natural. Unlike the VeganCuts Makeup Box which includes makeup items only, this box includes makeup, skincare, hair care, and body care products.

Cost: $22.95 per month, with the cost going down with 6- or 12-month subscriptions.

Shipment: This box ships monthly, usually during the 2nd or 3rd week of the month.

What You’ll Receive: 4-7 mostly full size products, but there will be some deluxe sample size products mixed in there.

13.) GlossyBox

What it is: Products included in GlossyBox are handpicked from around the globe and packaged beautifully in a keepsake box that I’m sure you’ll find a use for after trying your sweet new products.

Cost: $21.00 monthly, going down a dollar per month when you commit to 3-month, 5-month, or 12-month subscriptions.

Shipment: This box arrives at your door every month.

What You’ll Receive: 5 deluxe sample to full size beauty products. Although April’s box included 8 products, with 2 full size ColourPop Lippies being part of the mix.
