Today’s review is for all the moms out there – I’m reviewing Mini Melissa Kids’ Shoes, which are all together adorable! If you don’t have a little girl, know that Mel by Melissa shoes are fabulous for adults and I highly recommend them. All of the good things I say about Mini Melissa shoes apply to their adult shoes too!
My brother recently got married and that meant I had the opportunity to pick out a lovely dress and the perfect shoes to go with it for my little girl. The dress I chose is a dark gray, with watercolor flowers on it in shades of pink and purple. Just like I would for myself, I searched for shoes in the color family of the dress. Shopping for a little girl, I wanted to have fun with the shoes, so instead of searching for dark gray shoes, I looked for shoes in pinks and purples. In my search, the Mini Melissa Disney Beauty and the Beast Mary Janes popped up and it was love at first site. Light pink with a darker pink rose, perfect!
I purchased these online at Amazon.com, but I’ve also seen Mini Melissa shoes sold at Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Saks Off Fifth, Nordstrom Rack, Gilt.com, Zappos.com, 6pm.com, and ShopMelissa.com/mini.
Mini Melissa shoes are high-quality and made from a fruit-scented PVC. That’s a true statement, they smell sweet! The flexible PVC that Melissa shoes are made of is called MELFLEX plastic. This plastic is said to be hypoallergenic and recyclable. The thought of plastic shoes may bring back memories of jellies, the plastic shoes that were all the rage in the late 80s and early 90s. I remember loving my jellies, even though they removed the skin from the back of my heel every time I wore them. Thinking of plastic shoes may also make you think, eww, your feet would sweat so much in those! Well, I’m thrilled to say that you can set your worries aside. Mini Melissa, and Melissa shoes for adults, are comfortable throughout the day, even if you’re doing a lot of walking. Neither Mini Melissa shoes or Melissa shoes cut your feet or make them sweat excessively. Okay, glad we got that discussion out of the way!
These shoes are pricey, but being realistic, that’s not unlike all children’s shoes. This particular pair cost: $65.00. As always, I’d recommend buying them on sale! Since I had a deadline, I couldn’t wait for this pair to go on sale, I had to take the hit and purchase them at full price. I hate doing that. :-\
Bottom Line: These shoes are adorable and seem to be comfortable, my little one ran around in them all day without complaint! She received tons of compliments and when she outgrows this pair, I’m positive we’ll be replacing them with another pair of shoes from Mini Melissa that are just as charming.
What are your thoughts of these shoes? Cute? Worth the price? Please let me know in the comments below!
