Each and every month has it’s own theme, and this month’s is The Gleam Team.
Keep reading for what was included in the March 2017 box, mini descriptions of each product, photos, and the Play! by Sephora monthly subscription box break down.
The box for the Play! by Sephora monthly subscription is clad in Sephora’s iconic black and white stripes. Opening up the box, the first thing I pulled out was the informational poster included with the box. This little poster will fill you in on everything you need to know about what’s included in this month’s box and how to use it. The card to redeem your one-on-one tutorial at your local Sephora is attached to this pamphlet as well.
After reading this info. over, I pulled out the collectible bag included. After looking over the bag, I opened it up to check out the products inside. This month I received:
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Pink
Benefit Watt’s Up! Cream-to-Powder Highlighter
Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast
Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm
GLAMGLOW GLOWSTARTER Mega Illuminating Moisturizer
The first product I pulled out of the bag was the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Pink. I’ve purchased and used Bobbi Brown’s cream shadows before, they are so convenient to swipe on and go. They’re useful as eyeshadows and as thick and colorful eyeliners. This shimmery pink peach shade will be perfect for highlighting my eyelids and face. These eyeshadow sticks are very long-lasting, staying put from morning application to evening cleansing.
The next product I reached for was the Benefit Watt’s Up! Cream-to-Powder Highlighter. This highlighter is very easy to apply, just glide it on and you’re instantly glowing. This highlighter has a champagne tinge and applies luminously and sheer. It’s ideal for use on your cheeks and brow bones.
I next grabbed the Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast. This styling and finishing spray is made for straight or wavy hair. It instantly adds fullness and texture to dry hair. This is perfect to use on days that you don’t wash your hair, that’s right there should be days you don’t wash your hair. My hair usually looks pretty good right after washing, drying, and styling, but the next day it looks limp and blah. Sprays, like this one, are exactly what’s needed to give hair that freshly washed and styled oomph.
The Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm was the next product I opened right up. To be completely honest, I wasn’t immediately sure what this balm was for or how to use it. Turns out, this is an anti-aging makeup primer that can fit into your beauty routine after moisturizing. For example, cleanse, tone, moisturize, apply this balm, then apply your makeup. It’s called a “Finishing Balm” because it is a product that completes your skin care routine and bridges it to your makeup routine. This is a brand new idea to me and I’m excited to try it.
The last beauty product I took out was the GLAMGLOW GLOWSTARTER Mega Illuminating Moisturizer. Not paying attention, I saw GLAMGLOW and assumed that this product was a mask. Nope! This is a moisturizer that brightens dullness with iridescent illuminating pearl particles. These particles are said to blur imperfections, reflect light, and enhance your overall complexion. Sounds fabulous, I hope it works! I tend to be a little skeptical when products make such grandiose claims, but we’ll see, this moisturizer could keep its promises.
Cost: This box costs $10.00 per month. Each box contains 5 deluxe sample size beauty and skincare products, a fragrance sample, a collectible bag, a one-on-one tutorial, and the opportunity to go to subscriber meetups at your local Sephora. TBH (to be honest), I’ve never taken advantage of the one-on-one tutorial or gone to a subscriber meetup, I really should. I know! I know!
Cancellation: If you want to cancel your box after subscribing, you can through the My Account page on Sephora’s site.
Bottom Line:Â This is the best subscription box you can get for $10! End of story.
