My New Favorite Shirt

Winter was awfully rainy here in the bay area, and that meant finding as many indoor activities to do with kids as possible. One rainy morning we decided going to the Hiller Aviation Museum would be that days inside adventure.

This outfit of the day (OOTD) was put together with going to the Hiller Aviation Museum in mind. Winter was awfully rainy here in the bay area, and that meant finding as many indoor activities to do with kids as possible. One rainy morning we decided going to the Hiller Aviation Museum would be that day’s inside adventure. As always, I wanted to be comfortable while still looking like the cool mom that I am…lol. I’m totally cool, right? Moving on, I created my outfit around the embellished gray sweater I had just purchased the day before. Pictures of my outfit are below, followed by a brief description and pictures of the Hiller Aviation Museum.

The Hiller Aviation Museum was opened by helicopter designer and inventor Stanley Hiller Jr. in 1998. It is affiliated with the Smithsonian and features over 50 aircraft covering over 100 years of aviation history. The Boeing “Condor,” a robotic spy-plane from the 1980s, is my personal favorite among the displayed aircraft, it’s in the last photo below. The museum regularly hosts kid-friendly events and in addition to the exhibits there is a small play area, flight simulators, an area to fly drones, and the invention lab where older kids and adults can explore aerodynamics, engineering, assembly, and design. With a one and half year old, we spent about one and 1/2 to two hours exploring the museum, older kids who might be more interested in learning about the history of the aircraft and other activities in the museum could spend significantly more time here. This museum is conveniently located in San Carlos and is open daily from 10am to 5pm. Admission is affordable, kids under 4 are free, youths and seniors are $11.00, and adults are $16.00.
